As part of Rixos Hotel JBR restaurants in Dubai, Asil is a Levantine/Moorish concept with a contemporary twist. Annaka’s scope is to revamp the whole interior design of this place.
Starting from the hotel lobby, a minimalistic façade of oriental scenography leading to a vernacular lobby before getting in the big room of the restaurant. Open technical ceiling shall be covered with arabesque wooden frames for more flexibility in terms of Lighting, AC and firefighting network. Left side booths strip is preserved but with a garden background emphasizing the privacy between the round seatings. Access to toilets through a Moorish portico is tiled with Zellige giving a Hammam atmosphere to that area. The Bar’s crown is wrapped with cane webbing while the peripheral base is covered with small golden tiles reflecting the glare of the bar’s wall cove light.
Existing elevated podium, previously dedicated to the artistic performance, is transformed into an oriental boudoir with pink dominant velvet fabric adding a sensual coziness. Finally, the terrace overlooking the beach is covered with plastic oriental rugs with a lot of
planters offering more intimate seating.
